At the Roxy Theatre right now
Northampton's single-screen Roxy Theatre (roxytheaternorthampton.com) is currently showing Coyote vs. Acme (rated PG). Evenings run daily Friday through Thursday at 7:00 PM, with matinees Saturday and Wednesday at 1:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $3 and sold only at the box office; advance tickets are not available, so plan to arrive about 25 minutes before showtime.

Events to close out summer
The Great Allentown Fair runs through Labor Day, September 7 at the Allentown Fairgrounds, with midway rides, agriculture, food, and entertainment. The same Labor Day weekend, September 5 through 7, the Lehigh Valley Zoo Food Truck Festival brings a rotating lineup of regional trucks to the park each day from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Right in town, the Uptown Northampton Street Fair returns Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Main Street in Northampton Borough, with craft vendors, activities, and food trucks. Nearby Lehigh University opens its home football season at Goodman Stadium in Bethlehem, hosting William & Mary on September 12 and Dartmouth on September 19. Later in the month, the Celtic Classic Highland Games (September 18-19) and Forks Community Days (September 18-20) round out the region's September lineup.
Northampton Borough news and meetings
Northampton Borough Council meets at the municipal building at 1401 Laubach Avenue at 7:00 PM, held as hybrid meetings (in person plus online). Council generally convenes on a Thursday evening, so check the borough website and its YouTube channel for the current month's date, agenda, and public-comment details.
Upcoming this week, the Northampton Borough Municipal Authority holds its regular board meeting Tuesday, September 8 at 4:00 PM at 1 Clear Springs Drive (agendas and minutes post to nbma.org). Northampton Area School District

Families with younger students should confirm their assigned elementary school on the district site.

Several eateries have opened across the Lehigh Valley in 2026. Mr. Tacos opened this year at 1601 W. Liberty Street in Allentown serving tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and chilaquiles. Breeze Mediterranean opened in late May at 1243 W. Tilghman Street in Allentown with hummus, falafel, and kabobs. And Nori Japan, a Japanese fast-casual spot, opened at Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall this spring.
Near 4021 Pine Hurst Drive in Northampton and Nazareth, these local spots are easy picks: Nazareth Diner for a full-menu classic, Sicily Pizza for pizza, Los Compadres for Mexican, and Catty Corner for pub fare and pie. For a food-truck evening, the Zoo Food Truck Festival (September 5-7) is a convenient option just up the road.
